Crispy oven bacon

Cooking bacon in the oven, using the cold oven method, gives you perfectly crispy slices without any trouble or mess, and the cleanup is easy. You cook the bacon slices directly on parchment lined rimmed baking pans, or on a wire rack in the baking pan. Using a rack insures extra crispy bacon but involves a little more cleaning up on your part.  I’ll stick to the parchment paper!

What You’ll Need For Crispy Oven Bacon

You’ll need a great bacon, we prefer Vande Rose Farms bacon. You also need parchment lined, or a foil lined rimmed baking pan and an oven. The parchment paper or foil makes for a super easy cleanup. This crispy bacon recipe also is great for a hungry crowd, when you have to cook up a lot of bacon strips in a hurry.

How To Make Crispy Bacon In The Oven

This is probably one of those bacon recipes that you never need to read again, once you’ve made it. I always start this crispy bacon recipe by using the cold oven method. Do you want to make this extra special? Brush the bacon with maple syrup before cooking!

  1. Line a baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer.
  2. Place the baking pan in a cold oven and then heat the oven to 425 degrees.
  3. Depending on the thickness of the bacon, start checking the bacon after 15 minutes to see if it’s as crispy as you like it. It should take about 20 minutes for the bacon to be perfectly crispy.
  4. Transfer the bacon slices to a paper towel to drain slightly before serving.
