How To Make Whipped Butter Recipe {Like The Pros}

whipped butter recipe

It is so easy to make whipped butter at home. We use whipped butter at home to top our freshly baked artisan bread and our morning toast. The whipped butter recipe only takes a couple of minutes with the hardest part of the recipe being waiting for the butter to come to room temperature. We’ve also included some ideas for unique flavored whipped butters that are my family’s favorites.

One of the benefits of making whipped butter is that you can add different seasonings to create a new flavor profile. Think about it for a few seconds. Wouldn’t roast garlic whipped butter be incredible on grilled Italian crostini? I like to make a Steak butter by incorporating roast garlic, Montreal steak seasoning and steak sauce into the butter as I am whipping it.

Is Whipped Butter the Same As Butter

Whipped butter is the same thing as butter. Butter has air whipped into it to create a lighter more spreadable butter. Adding cream or milk will be a fortified whipped butter, with an even lighter texture.

How Much Butter Is In A Stick Of Butter

1 stick of standard American grocery store butter equals 8 tablespoons of butter or ½ cup of butter or 113 grams of butter.

This recipe for whipped butter calls for ½ cup of butter, so simply use a whole stick. You can easily double or quadruple the recipe if called for.

How To Bring A Stick Of Butter To Room Temperature

The easiest way to warm up a stick of butter is to put it on the counter for 30 minutes to an hour. To quicken this process, you could cut the butter into tablespoon size pieces. The butter should easily yield to the touch but not show signs of melting.

Butter Hack

Fill a tall glass with extremely hot water and let the glass sit for 1 minute. Pour out the water and then place the glass over a wrapped stick of butter and cover with a tea towel for 10 minutes. This will create a warm cozy environment for the butter without melting the butter stick. After 10 minutes the butter should be soft enough to whip.
