Instructions
Start the marinara sauce by heating extra virgin olive oil (4 tbsp) in a large sauce pot. Crush fresh garlic (5 cloves) and add it to the pot. Bring the pot to medium heat and let the garlic cook for a minute or two. Be careful not to brown the garlic.
Add the crushed tomatoes (28 ounces), 1salt (1 tsp), freshly cracked black pepper (½ tsp) and bring to a simmer. Let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. When ready to serve, stir in finely chopped basil (1 tbsp)
